Efficient service in New York’s Capital Region for health care workers, medical device representatives, and caregivers:

PPD PLACEMENT HOURS (PPD reading is 48-72 hrs later)

Tuesday:  9:00 am to 12:00 pm (PPD is read Thursday)
Wednesday:  9:00 am to 12:00 pm (PPD is read Friday)

  1. Click REGISTER/CHECK-IN to schedule an appointment same-day and up to 30 days in advance. Walk-ins are welcome.
  2. Make payment of $50 (cash/credit/debit).
  3. Receive PPD placement at forearm.
  4. Return in 48-72 hours (2-3 days) for PPD reading.
  5. Receive PPD record. If reading is positive, chest x-ray script can be provided.

Note: We also perform physicals for $200. A PPD is included in the price of the physical (physical with PPD: $200).

PPD Basics

The purified protein derivative (PPD, aka TB/Tuberculin/Mantoux Test) is used to test for tuberculosis.

A positive PPD (swelling at the injection site within 2-3 days) will indicate:

  1. Prior exposure to tuberculosis (or prior receipt of BCG vaccine)
  2. Most often, inactive infection (if any)

Individuals who have a positive PPD will require a chest x-ray to check for active infection.
